Upstairs view of the show...let's go down, and take a closer look!
My internal
radar immediately directs me to (one of my favorites) the Sweet Home Mine
Display!
Although
the Alma King did not make it down from the Denver Museum, I am elated to
see the one and only:
ALMA QUEEN!!!
She definitely ruled this beautiful display!
You might be aware that the Tucson Show this year featured the localities of the United States. I
will list the remaining photographs in alphabetical order. I took some
select pictures to share with you here, but by no means does it represent
the magnitude of what was on display! |
From left to right: Smoky Quartz & Amazonite, Pikes Peak Area, CO; Wilensky Amethyst w/Quartz, Jackson's Crossroad, GA; Jackson's Crossroads Display
One of the many award winning displays
From left to right: Barite, Western, SD; Benitoite, San Benito County, CA; Blue Top Tourmaline, Pala, San Diego County, CA
From left to right: California Gold; "The Candelabra", Pala, San Diego County, CA; Fluorite & Barite, Elmwood, TN
This was actually my parting shot of the impressive, very colorful, and award winning fluorescent display.
From left to right: Herkimer Diamonds, Middleville, NY; the Kosnar Brothers (Brett center, Brian right) keeping busy; Emeralds, Hiddenite, NC
From left to right: This disciplined guard, never took his eyes off the "Candelabra"!; Red Beryls, UT
From left to right: The beautiful Tucson mountain view to the north, as seen from my hotel room; then it snowed in the higher elevations!
From left to right: Front and back view of the most amazing carving from a single piece of Turquoise!
Featured at the Patagonia Mineral booth is another amazing carving of Peruvian, Rhodochrosite!
I actually went to Tucson to acquire some beautiful specimens, so I did not systematically cover the whole show for the purposes of taking pictures of every feature exhibit in its entirety. And yet, I sincerely hope that you enjoy this small glimpse that I am sharing with you here. This show was indeed mesmerizing, and it was quite a task absorbing the magnitude of all the stupendous displays brought together under one roof. I personally would like to thank all of the collectors, institutions, and ALL those involved, that made this once in a lifetime, and very historic show possible. I sincerely thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart! Please click on the Gallery link below to start your view of the beautiful mineral specimens that I have posted for sale. Thus far there are a total of four tucson 2008 galleries. Thank you very much for taking the time to look around! |
