I
was privileged in having met Byron Weege, and Bill Pogue of UK Mining
Ventures at the Tucson Show 2006. They mine the Rogerley seasonally.
It's always great meeting the people that laboriously excavate these
beauties from the mines for us collectors to enjoy! So, I was very happy
to procure a few of these very beautiful specimens, like the ones shown
here for sale! I have several Fluorite specimens from different localities
around the world in my personal collection, and these from the Rogerley
Mine have their own very beautiful and unique characteristics! When
held in the sunlight, these crystals take on a gorgeous purplish hue!!! |

The bottom side of the matrix is lined with many smaller Fluorite crystals
with a lighter color, as well as several Galena crystals.

The whitish
- brown calcified deposits overgrown on some of the Fluorite crystals, gives
this specimen a different look from this locality.
Yet, it is a stark contrast to the very glassy, and rich emerald green classic
Rogerley twinned Fluorite crystals.
The two bigger crystals in the center of this specimen, really stand out!
Very nice small cab.

PLEASE
NOTE: All of the photographs are not to scale. Some are enlarged to
give you an accurate and an in depth view of all the details for you
to see. Please always refer to specimen size in all my listings for
the actual size, as this is what the final price is based on. Although
picture colors can vary slightly from browsers to computers, I go to
great lengths in photographing all mineral specimens with complete color
accuracy, without any retouching whatsoever! My photo studio lighting
consists of 4800K fluorescent lighting, which simulates the wavelengths
of daylight. In some cases for a different effect I have utilized regular
incandescent lighting to provide a different effect. If a specimen has
knowingly been repaired, I will always disclose this information to
you. |
